The flood of goods to Russia via third countries is a global problem. South Korean exports to Kyrgyzstan are up 1600% vs pre-invasion. These exports are bad in 2 ways: (i) they keep Putin's war economy going; and (ii) other bad actors with invasion plans look at this and laugh... pic.twitter.com/cOBsqEVK2c — Robin Brooks (@robin_j_brooks) July 28, 2024

WASHINGTON, July 2, 2024 - Following is a statement from National Press Club President Emily Wilkins on the finding by a United Nations panel that Wall Street Journal Reporter Evan Gershkovich is being arbitrarily detained by Russia. “The UN’s report confirms what we have all known: Evan is being unjustly held in Russia and his case is a sham. The recent spate of Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea has brought global maritime shipping to its knees, and the United States’ response has been nothing short of an embarrassment. The Houthis, with their audacity and impunity, have wreaked havoc on international trade routes, and the U.S., a supposed global leader, has done practically nothing to counter this menace. It’s time to call out this gross negligence and the unacceptable inaction that has followed.

Choosing the Lesser of Two Evils: Biden vs. Trump and the Hope in Nikki Haley In the tumultuous landscape of American politics, voters often find themselves choosing between two candidates they perceive as flawed. The Labour Party’s silence in response to the burgeoning alliance between Vladimir Putin’s Russia and various autocratic regimes has raised significant concerns about the United Kingdom’s foreign policy stance and its implications for national security. This silence, perceived by many as a passive endorsement or at least a troubling indifference, could be catastrophic for the UK’s geopolitical standing and its internal stability. Vladimir Putin has been actively strengthening ties with countries that share his authoritarian worldview, creating a formidable bloc that opposes Western democratic ideals.

In recent months, there has been a noticeable trend where elements of the fringe left have shown increasing support or sympathy for various rogue and militant groups. This shift is marked by vocal endorsements and alliances with entities such as Iran, the Houthis, Hezbollah, Hamas, and, more recently, North Korea. These groups are often involved in conflicts and actions that oppose Western interests and have been designated as terrorist organizations by many countries, including the United States.
